Putting on the Armor of God

Do you love summer? I know I do! The freedom, fresh air, fun, and friends. One of my favorite parts of summer is having the chance to be involved in a Bible Study with other girls and some mentors. Last summer, we went through the study The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst and it was so much fun to be a part of! It was refreshing and encouraging to be able to learn alongside other believers of similar backgrounds. This summer, we chose to do the study Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer. If you recognize the phrase "Armor of God", you might already know that you can find the passage it's based off of in Ephesians 6.

I've always liked this passage, and have heard it preached and taught multiple times, so doing an in-depth study on it sounded really interesting! Our group is only a few weeks into it, but we are all enjoying it and learning a lot about what it means to put on the armor piece by piece and how all the pieces fit together. The author also brings up a very strong point, which has stuck with me since the first night: Prayer is the seventh piece of armor. I don't want to spoil the study, if perhaps you are a part of it or are planning on doing it. But I will say, if you want to learn a lot about what each piece of armor does and how they all work together, you should totally take the time to do this study! You can order it through Going BeyondLifeWay, or Christian Book Distributors, to name a few.
